Plot

'Jihye' likes senior 'Sangmin' in a same university acting class. But her friend, 'Sookyeong', asks 'Jihye' to write a letter instead of her. 'Jihye' writes letters which has her real emotion in 'sookyeong' name. Because of her letter, 'Sookyeong' and 'Sangmin' are very close, but 'Jihye' feels some guilty. 'Jihye' avoid her but coincident 'Jihye' and 'Sangmin' hit face frequently.

'Jihye' lives with her mother, 'joohee', which is now on traveling. Her father was gone when she was young. when she is cleaning attic, she finds boxes about her mother's first love.

1968, summer

In vacation, 'Junha' went to his uncle's house in countryside. Then, he meets 'Sung joohee' who is 'Jihye''s mother. He was totally fall in love with her. one day, 'Joohee' asks to go to ghost house with her. He was allowed, and they went together. But because of sudden showers, they were late to come back home, and her parents got angry. so she must have gone to other area, and couldn't touch with him. And vacation was over, 'Junha' went back to school. one day, his friend 'Taesu' asked him love letter. He was surprised with the addresses was 'Joohee'. But he couldn't notice to his friend. As a 'Taesu's name, he wrote a love letter to 'Joohee'.

About this movie. I think it is best movie of 'Son yejin'. in this film, she was most beautiful, and her acting was so good. but she was only 22 years old. because of this movie, she became one of best actress. and two actors 'Cho seungwoo' and 'Jo insung' are best actors too.

About rain. in this movie, rainy scene is so much beautiful. Rain represent symbol of korean first love. There is a novel which makes korean first love image about rain. That is 'Shower' by Hwang soonwon. He is one of best author in korea.

'Shower' story is like this. There was one boy in countryside. one day, he met some girl from Seoul. He felt some thing emotion. They met by chance in stepping stones. He was waiting in one side before crossing the stepping stones because she was in middle of stepping stones. But she threw the little stone suddenly, and said 'Idiot', and went to other side. and next day, she was in middle of stepping stone, but he went beside her and had good time together. One day, when they was just walking, it was suddenly showering. Although they were going back, water flowed too much over the stepping stone. so he carried her in his back. After that, he couldn't see her during several days. when they met again, she was wearing the sweater which it was showering. She said 'A stein in this sweater is from you that day'. so his face was going red. after that, he just heard she moved back to Seoul. one night, he couldn't sleep thinking about her. He overheard his parents talk coincident. His father said she was dead because of blood cancer, and when she was dying, she said 'Please bury me with this sweater' as a will.

It makes korean image of first love.
